Connect a .ch domain to Wix

Follow the connection records generated for your Wix site and preserve unrelated DNS.

Start in Wix

  1. In Wix, open Domains and choose Connect a domain you already own.
  2. Select the correct site and enter the .ch domain.
  3. If Wix offers pointing, choose it to keep olu DNS and copy the exact A and CNAME values Wix displays.

Finish the connection

  1. Add the displayed root and www records in olu.
  2. Remove conflicting records for those website hostnames only; retain MX and email TXT records.
  3. Run the Wix connection check and wait for the domain and HTTPS certificate to become active.

If Wix only offers a nameserver connection for your setup, changing nameservers moves all DNS control away from olu. Re-create website and email records at Wix before switching.

Frequently asked questions

Why is email affected after a nameserver switch?

Nameservers control the whole DNS zone. If MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records were not copied to the new DNS provider, mail can fail even though the website works.
