Public lookup
WHOIS privacy is included by default at no extra cost. olu requests the available registrar privacy setting for every new registration and inbound transfer. The .ch registry also hides holder and technical contact details from anonymous RDAP users.
A public lookup may still show technical registration state, dates, registrar and nameservers. Privacy does not mean anonymity: olu must collect accurate holder information and transmit required data to the registrar and .ch registry.
Controlled disclosure
The registry, registrar and olu use holder data to administer the domain, meet legal duties, handle abuse and establish rights. Properly authorised authorities or parties meeting the registry’s legal access rules may obtain information that is not in the public lookup.
Keep the holder record current in your account and answer identification requests by their deadline. Contact privacy@olu.ch for an access or correction request.
